Last week, Alicia was at SXSW, discussing the importance of the internet in cancer care. She was joined by Alicia Quarles from E! Online News and Megan Holly Brown from FOX news; Stacey Bernstein from Weber Shandwick moderated.
Tonight’s #BCSM chat will cover some of the topics discussed by the panel.
T1: The cancer journey is now social AND digital – what does that mean for you?
T2: The second opinion is now social – what happens when patients look for second opinions online – turning to one another for personal anecdotes and advice that may contradict what their doctor is saying? Why aren’t personal stories given “more weight”?
T3 – Establishing the patient’s social / networked “family” – aka the Webside Manner. What is the impact of the relationships that people build online? In some cases, do they become even more important than friends and family? Is this good or bad?
